The year of the buckle fracture

As predicted earlier this year, we have more broken bones. This time poor little Olivia is the victim. Last Tuesday night I was out running and when I came home Matt was cradling and rocking Olivia (which she will never let you do) I should have immediately known something was wrong. He told me I needed to get ready and take her to the emergency room. She had been playing in the boys room and was at the top of the bunk bed ladder when she fell. The boys have a hard time keeping their rooms clean so she most likely fell on a toy or other clutter (our only witness is Carson who was more concerned with letting Matt know that "he didn't do it"). So after only an hour of waiting we had our x-rays and we were told she broke her leg in two places. It took six nurses to put the splint on her (she has never been a fan of doctors), she is a tough little cookie (#4 syndrome). After two days she finally go her hard cast ...all the way up her thigh. It is pink and filthy already ... guess that is what happens when you take a baby camping with a new cast.
Olive trying to eat the morning after.

Olive helping to do laundry because she can'y do anything else!

Send my love to Olive! We are so sad to be away with all the "fun" new developments!

It goes with the name girl! My Liv broke her leg when she was 3 on a trampoline. It is good that they are SO fiesty! Give her a big kiss for me, and give yourself a big hug, cause it will be a long 4-6 weeks, packing her everywhere.(The big, heavy cast) We went through 3 casts with all the wear and tear. Good luck! Miss you!
